Almost Done...

Our house is almost done. Just part of the front and 1/2 of a side left to do. Too bad it is raining today or they would have finished it, today. Pictures to come. I am at Champlin High School and it is raining. I was here a couple of weeks ago and it was raining that day too. I forgot my umbrella both times. LOL. The last time I was here on a Friday and they didn't have school on the following Monday. I am here today and they don't have school tomorrow(coincidence?). I am teaching in the ESL classes and did last time too, so I have a lot of the same students. They are so funny and I have a blast with them. You know I am a sub, oops, Guest Teacher, and yet I loved it that a couple of the girls came in saying, "Mrs. V, your here, Mrs. V is here!" One of them even came up and hugged me before I even knew what was happening. It's times like this, that I realize that I have the best of both worlds. Yesterday I went to the gym at 5:30AM, volunteered at Kaydree's school, hung out with Karsyn, did some laundry, went to Sam's Club, Target, Wal-Greens and then had a Primary Meeting. Today I get to teach while Karsyn is at preschool and have adult conversations and make some money in the process. Today is also the end of the quarter so they are testing all day. On my prep period which is 90 minutes, I am getting caught up on my coupons. ;-) This is my new hobby. I am always trying and usually save 50% on my total bill or higher. Benjy laughs and says it is like a game to me... it kind of is, if only it wasn't so time consuming, sometimes.

Isn't saving money fun. Glenn always tells me as long as you aren't buying something that you normally wouldn't just cuz you have a coupon.

What are you doing to your house? I am trying to do the coupon thing, but it is just too time consuming! I'd much rather be sewing, knitting, reading, watching TV, maybe you can drop me some pointers to get it all organized? My new favorite thing when I shop on-line I "google" codes for saving right before I check out and have saved some money that way.

Getting good deals IS a game, and a fun one too! I love when I can find peanut butter at the lowest, lowest price and then I can stock up for the whole year. It's almost like getting a little bit of a high, knowing that I've been victorious! And then Ryan is happy, too, 'cause we have a whole lotta Skippy Super Chunk in the house, just in case.

How cool to have the best of both worlds. I had my first day back after a long track break yesterday and man those hugs are such a great reminder of why we do it.

I have a single male friend in CA who is addicted to coupons and will buy stuff he does not need and give it away to see how much he can save.
