We went down to Iowa to visit the Iowa Kochs.... we wanted to make some green chili and hang out. On Saturday, they brought us to see the Effigy Mounds. Our Big 5th Grader had been learning about the mounds in Minnesota and we had just talked to her teacher about it that week. So when they told us that is what we were going to do, we were all ecstatic.
There was a huge Eagle's Nest done to scale by a Boy Scout who did it as his Eagle Project. How fitting, right?
This was inside the museum which was neat however walking the path to the mounds was the best!

I really enjoyed the walk to the mounds as well It was a beatiful day and very educational as well. Just a little stress for spencer when Emmy and Karsyn were missing..But as it turns out they were just fine Walking and Talking...
That nest is really cool! I'm glad your family lives close enough that you can spend time together often.
