Do you ever wonder how something so beautiful can be so dangerous? And we wonder why we were in a tornado warning? As I was outside taking pictures, the girls were watching the news and they said, "Now is not the time to be outside taking pictures." Let's just say they started yelling for me to get back inside. I guess I wasn't setting a great example. I just couldn't believe how beautiufl they were.

Goodbye "Bubba."
We have finally taken the bottle away. There has been a little bit of a debate in our family about when this should happen. The girls were done with their bottle by 10 months and worried about tooth decay, I was never going to be one of those parents that let their child walk around with a bottle. Kyce, however had somewhat more of an attachment to his. I love our pediatrician however he allowed Kyce to prolong the trashing of the bottles a little longer because Benjy was having a hard time taking it away. I was looking for support from our doctor and he threw me under the bus. I kept pushing the issue, however last week when it came time to lay him down for a nap without it, he was so sad and all of my tough guy routine fell to the wayside and I gave in. He was so sad asking for his bubba. My heart melted and I couldn't do it. Benjy kept saying, " A couple more weeks," but when he came home last Monday night and hearing that I failed, Benjy, decided it was time. After a couple of minutes of Kyce crying I went in there not to give him the bottle but to comfort him and Benjy actually told me to get out. Let's just say, that didn't go over very well. Kyce and I both were upset in our bedrooms. After I walked out, pouting and peeved, Kyce cried for less then a minute and fell asleep. Benjy got the job done. Which is ironic since I have been the one pushing to take it away! I did get a sincere apology later from my amazing hubby. I know that a stressful moment sometimes doesn't bring out the best in either of us. In order to make sure that we weren't tempted to give in and ruin all of his progress, we tossed out all of the bottles. That way there is no temptation for us to pacify him so that we can get some sleep. I am pleased to say it has been one week and not one mention of the "bubba" and he has been going to sleep like a champ! Here we thought it was going to be so tough on Kyce but we have now realized it was tougher on us! We even delayed our date night Saturday and missed out on dinner with friends, until we could make sure he went down without the bottle. After another successful transition we went out and celebrated. If anyone mentions the "bubba," to Kyce, you may be taken down and silenced, seriously!
Tender moments with the bottle, Benjy was the first one to give Kyce a "bubba." Where has the time gone?
